About

Pleasure to meet you!

I'm James, a student at Princeton studying Computer Science and English, originally from Columbus, Georgia.

At my core, I am a creator. I believe in building things that are just as beautiful in form as they are powerful in function. I love envisioning what could exist, and I work to make those ideas real — whether that be a story, a brand, a business, or an app.

Feel free to explore this site to learn about everything, everywhere, and everyone that has shaped what I do, where I've been, and who I am. And if you'd like to ask any questions, work with me, or just chat, I would love for you to reach out! Feel free to contact me here.

Looking forward to knowing you,

Everything I've Developed

My projects are inspired by the intersection of tech and creativity. My work tends to play around with fun ideas, design-obsessed interfaces, and interactive experiences.

I design through building, moving beyond prototyping and actually implementing ideas to showcase real, functional interactions that test how people actually engage with my technology.

I'm super interested in HCI interfaces, quirky AI assistants, and business automation. Feel free to check out some of my work below. You can also visit my Github here.

KnowBody

KnowBody is a full-stack, HIPAA-compliant iOS app built with Swift and Firebase. It functions like a social network for physicians, allowing primary care doctors to instantly ping local specialists for free, on-demand medical advice.

The app was made in collaboration with MercyMed of Columbus, a non-profit healthcare clinic providing high-quality, low-cost healthcare to the underserved. The project is currently in development and moving toward official, legal recognition as a secure medical platform.

The Food Waste Score

The Food Waste Score (FWS) is an HCI-driven system designed to gamify sustainable dining through real-time feedback on plate waste. It calculates a dynamic "waste score," similar to Whoop's "recovery score" or Garmin's "body battery," to encourage more mindful eating in university dining halls.

The project integrates behavioral insights from human-computer interaction to make sustainability measurable and motivating. Piloted at Princeton, FWS demonstrates how "score feedback" can reduce food waste and encourage more sustainable dining choices.

Avaline

Avaline is a concert ticket web-scraper built with React that pulled live data from StubHub and SeatGeek to deliver real-time updates, price tracking, and AI-powered purchasing advice. It helped me and dozens of other Oasis fans secure tickets to the band’s East Rutherford reunion concert.

With the show now behind us, Avaline's price-tracking features have gone quiet. But the app allowed me to attend the concert (which was awesome), and you can still chat with the British AI assistant Avaline here.

Everything I've Eaten (with My Best Friend)

One cold December night, Alistair Wright and I were sitting at The Dinky Bar and Grill preparing for our first finals week of college when we came up with the idea for The Hungry Tiger.

The Hungry Tiger is a Princeton-based food media brand showcasing the restaurants, people, and events that shape both Princeton's food culture and the cuisines we encounter while traveling. We strive to promote local restaurants, uncover unique food stories, and spotlight those who make sure we never go hungry. Give it a watch here!

Everywhere I've Worked

From software engineering to marketing, and legal writing to illustration, my experiences are versatile and adaptable to any role. Each role has given me tools to analyze, create, and lead, and I carry those lessons into every opportunity I take on. You can find out more about these experiences on my LinkedIn here.

Everywhere I've Eaten (Ranked!)

Beli has to be my favorite app ever, and it's my mission to put every restaurant I've ever eaten at on there. Feel free to read my quippy reviews, scroll through my candid food photos, indulge my love for French food, and ponder my rankings, here on Beli.

Everyone I Love

A curated space where I celebrate my friends, my family, and the fun stuff we get to do together. There's also pictures of dogs, and landscapes, and food, and… you can check it out here.
